"It's Not Just a Job, It's ...."

	Boy, this was sure taken a long while ago! In fact, it was taken in 1975 at the Naval Air Facility at Kadena Air Force Base, Okinawa. My P-3B patrol squadron was on a six-month deployment there. The photo was taken in Maintenance Control and I'm not sure what I was doing, but I was probably controlling the maintenance...or something like that!

This is a rather "artsey" picture collage that was made by one of my applicants when I was a recruiter in Orange County. (Yes, I was an official Navy Recruiter!) This picture was made in 1977.

As with most organizations, the Navy has its share of closet artists. And the art (my term) produced on an antisubmarine warefare (ASW) P-3 squadron deployment is -- shall we say -- "interesting". As you may or may not know, the purpose of these deployments is ocean surveillance. And if one should come across something "interesting" during one of these patrols, it is a good idea to drop down a bit and take a closer look. This piece of art, however, depicts one aircrewman's concerns over, shall we say, a pass a tad bit lower than expected!
